I've had to change the forum security settings to prevent anybody and their dog from joining the forum, since Barry pointed out there were some strange russian accounts appearing! Now when you sign up, it must be confirmed by the administrator (i.e. me). Obviously this doesn't affect anybody who is already a member.

This also raises the question of who is allowed to view the forum without registering or signing in. Presently anyone can view all topics, no account required. I could change things so that only registered users can view the forum. This would mean those of you who look but haven't registered would have to do so (I know there are a few).

What do you (registered users) think?

I think everyone should join as a member to view the forum topics.
That way I think it would encourage people to contribute to the forum.

I did spot those Russian members, but wondered if it was a Ruski Yacht Club who had bought a job lot of GPs to play with.

Is it possible to look, but not post, without registering? I have often looked at sites and followed the topics for a while before deciding if I want to register and contribute. Cool
